Chama-se, então, "Bad As Me" e marca o regresso de Tom Waits aos discos de originais, sete anos após "Real Gone".
Do disco vindouro, foi já dado a conhecer o primeiro single, de título homónimo.
Uma belíssima canção. A voz está no sítio certo, numa espécie de evocação ao malogrado Captain Beefheart (influência assumida de Waits): ora em lamúria, ora raiva desesperada, ora sensualidade cava e ironia no riso. Tudo ao serviço da canção, numa estrutura blues/rock(abilly), de batida ácida, com reminiscências de Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
Com um avanço assim, será difícil aguentar os dois meses que faltam para o lançamento do disco, em 25 de Outubro, sem que a saliva, profusa, se solte dos lábios.
